TV's Hippest Talk Show Debuts Exclusively on Star World
Airing exclusively on STAR WORLD, from August viewers in the Middle East will experience Jimmy Kimmel Live! TV's most irreverent talk show premieres on STAR WORLD with three specially-selected episodes airing from 15-17 Aug at 11pm. After this three-night introduction, the show will begin its run on Mon 18 Aug and will air every week from Sun-Thu at 11pm.
Hosted by Emmy-winning comedian Jimmy Kimmel, the talk show adds new spark to late-night viewing. Since its 2003 debut, Jimmy Kimmel Live! has won over fans and critics with its irreverent style and diverse lineup of guests.
The show often features elaborate stunts, such as having Quentin Tarantino and Lost creator J.J Abrams guest-direct entire episodes. In 2006, Kimmel staged a stunt where it appeared he had been bitten by a rattlesnake. Rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, he spent the rest of the episode in a hospital bed where he was nursed back to health by the cast of Grey's Anatomy.
Aside from A-list actors, Jimmy Kimmel Live! welcomes athletes, musicians, politicians and comedians. Innovative and unpredictable, host Jimmy Kimmel also turns the spotlight on ordinary people with unusual stories.
"I think there are a lot of things that are different than your standard talk show fare," explains Kimmel. "We've got a lot of weird and unsavory things on the show. Ultimately that's the fun of the show, the creativity involved."
Earlier this year, Kimmel sparked an internet sensation with his post-Oscars skit with Ben Affleck. After Sarah Silverman, Kimmel's then-girlfriend, aired a spoof video on his show about her alleged affair with Matt Damon, Kimmel plotted his revenge.
Aired during the post-Oscars episode, the celeb-packed video featuring Kimmel and Affleck has now been seen by over 100 million YouTube users. As well as being the talk of the town, the video confirmed Kimmel's status as TV's hottest - and hippest - talk show.

To celebrate his 1000th episode, Jimmy assembled a stellar lineup, including Eva Longoria Parker (right) and Kid Rock.
The Fifth Anniversary Special - Sat 16 Aug, 11pm
Celebrating its fifth anniversary, this special episode features Kimmel's ex-girlfriend Sarah Silverman, who surprised the crowd with the now infamous video starring Oscar winner Matt Damon.
The Academy Awards Special - Sun 17 Aug, 11pm
After the Silverman-Damon duet became a YouTube sensation, Kimmel got even with his own video. His parody not only featured Ben Affleck but also a star-studded lineup of Hollywood stars, including Cameron Diaz, Josh Groban, Harrison Ford, Brad Pitt and Robin Williams.
